Title of my book: Animal Farm

Author of my book: George Orwell

Authors mini biography:
Eric Blair (George Orwell) was born in India in 1903 and educated In England at Eton. He served in Burma (Myanmar) as part of the Indian Imperial Police during the 1920s, an experience that changed his understanding of politics. A born writer, he used his experiences —from working in restaurants in Paris to fighting for the Republicans in Spain—to explore social, political, and literary themes. During the Second World War, he joined the English Home Guard, worked for the BBC, and wrote regular columns for the Observer and the Tribune. Belying the vigor of his soldiering and his prodigious literary work, his health was always fragile. Blair died of tuberculosis in 1950, only 46 years old.

Mini Biography:
Mr Jones of Manor Farm is so lazy and drunken that one day he forgets to feed his livestock. The ensuing rebellion under the leadership of the pigs Napoleon and Snowball leads to the animals taking over the farm. Vowing to eliminate the terrible inequities of the farmyard, the renamed Animal Farm is organised to benefit all who walk on four legs.

Death to the Aristos

I was in the middle of a massive crowd but it was still cold and very Smokey, then a carriage filled with Men, the men that I saw in the carriage were very claim and silent as they come through the gate on to a stage with a machine on it.

The machine was a machine that cut peoples heads off. Then the first man from the carriage got dragged up the stairs and then his head got placed in the machine but he still was very claim and silent. The blade of the machine then come down and cut his off. The crowd went crazy with adrenalin, the tasted off blood and smoke was in the air, everyone was yelling and so was I.

Then the man on the stage grabs the head and yells out to the crowd “ Death to the aristocrats” and then the crowd yelled back “ Death to the Aristos”. Then the man put the head in one bag and the body in another bag, and then throws them in another carriage.

Character Description

Napoleon - The pig who emerges as the leader of Animal Farm after the Rebellion. Based on Joseph Stalin, Napoleon uses military force (his nine loyal attack dogs) to intimidate the other animals and consolidate his power. In his supreme craftiness, Napoleon proves more treacherous than his counterpart, Snowball.

Snowball - The pig who challenges Napoleon for control of Animal Farm after the Rebellion. Based on Leon Trotsky, Snowball is intelligent, passionate, eloquent, and less subtle and devious than his counterpart, Napoleon. Snowball seems to win the loyalty of the other animals and cement his power.

Squealer - The pig who spreads Napoleon’s propaganda among the other animals. Squealer justifies the pigs’ monopolization of resources and spreads false statistics pointing to the farm’s success. Orwell uses Squealer to explore the ways in which those in power often use rhetoric and language to twist the truth and gain and maintain social and political control.

Old Major - The prize-winning boar whose vision of a socialist utopia serves as the inspiration for the Rebellion. Three days after describing the vision and teaching the animals the song “Beasts of England,” Major dies, leaving Snowball and Napoleon to struggle for control of his legacy.

Boxer - The cart-horse whose incredible strength, dedication, and loyalty play a key role in the early prosperity of Animal Farm and the later completion of the windmill. Quick to help but rather slow-witted, Boxer shows much devotion to Animal Farm’s ideals but little ability to think about them independently. He naïvely trusts the pigs to make all his decisions for him. His two mottoes are “I will work harder” and “Napoleon is always right."

Animal farm essay

My name is max and my home sucks really badly, mainly because my owner pays no attention to me at all, and never feeds me, and when he does pay attention to me he treats me poorly. Just yesterday, for example, he kicked me for looking sad.

So I think I might leave this house today and go find a new home, like maybe a farm with other dogs and animals to play with, and a good owner that treats me right.

I walked straight out of the house after he had given me dinner for the first time in four days. It was not much though, only half a steak. After I left the house I walked down the driveway onto the main road. I was only half way down the main road when a pound truck sees me, pulls over and puts me in the truck. When I got in that truck I saw no other animals, it was just I in the back of that truck. I figured that they were looking for other animals, because I was in that truck for hours.

Then the truck pulled over, I thought to my self “finally, I can get out”. They dragged me out of the truck by my collar and threw me in a cage next to other dogs that had been taken by the pound.

I woke up after being asleep for a while, because a man was knocking on the cage; he was an old man in farmer’s clothes. The man in farmer’s clothes then took me away as I was yelling and screaming to stay in the cage. Then the man put me in the back of his car and drove me away.

I then woke up when the man opened the back of the car to let me out. I then take a look around the farm and saw a big barn where I can hear heaps of animals singing a song really loudly for this time of night. So I walk into the barn door and look in to see a lot of animals singing some song that I have never heard in my life. Leading all of the animas at the front was a group of pigs. After a while they were singing to loud so the man made them be quiet.

Three nights later I heard that one of the pigs died in their sleep, I don’t know what the pigs name was, but I think that he was one of the leaders, so all the animals were really upset.

Mr. jones who I think is a nice guy came home really drunk and forgot to feed any of the animals including me. The cows were so hungry that they broke into the store shed and start to eat Mr. jones. All of Mr. joneses men go in to try save Mr. jones but then the cows start eating them, and they do. They eat all the humans on the farm.

Over summer the animals start taking the duties of the humans, like taking in all of the harvest and maintaining the farm. Every day the animals would do a flag ceremony; the flag was green which I did not understand.

The animals were becoming really human like, the pigs especially. The pigs and the other animals were starting to wear human cloths and were starting to treat the other animals just like how my old owner used to. The pigs were starting to get really human like and out of control.

It is now winter and I am getting really sick of this farm and all the animals on it, so I finally decided to leave and hopefully get picked up by the pound again, so that I can find a new home that is better than this so called home.
